Coach Callum Bateman-Champain currently is a passionate about all things rugby and has been playing for 16 years.
Q: How long have you been coaching for?
I have been coaching for almost four years now.
Q: How long have you been coaching with Lions?
I've been with Lions for three rugby seasons now.
Q: Why did you choose to coach with us?
Because Lions are well-known by students locally for taking them under their wings and offering lots of opportunities.
Q: Which sport(s) do you coach and what qualifications do you have?
I am a Level-2 qualified rugby coach.
Q: Which clubs (if any) do you play for?
I play for the St Mary's university team, in Twickenham, during term time and my local club at home in East Grinstead.
Q: What is your ultimate goal as a coach?
My ultimate goal is to make youngsters better all-round rugby players.
Q: Who is your sporting hero and why?
My sporting hero is the open water swimmer, ultra-marathon runner and adventurer Ross Edgley.
Q: Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I have a very questionable tattoo on my ribs from when I went on a holiday with my mates.
Q: What other interests and/or hobbies do you have?
I am interested in health and exercise, so staying fit and going to the gym are my other hobbies.
