Ex-England Women's 15s & 7s International & now Lions Sports Academy area manager for Berkshire, Katie Mason, had the honour of presenting at the Independent Schools Association AGM at Luckley House School last Friday..
Presenting in front of around 12 schools, Katie outlined the business & how it can play a big role in helping schools to develop their schools sports coaching. She outlined the fundamentals of the business & how we could provide schools with expert coaching throughout the year.
As well as presenting on the business, Katie performed a CPD for the schools that were present, giving them ideas on how they could incorporate rugby into their schools games session. Being an ex-school teacher, Katie was able to give her insights into how they could, as well as incorporating rugby into their sessions, also manage a group of mixed abilities & be able to get the best out of everyone present.
Using our expertise, we were also able to give the schools a process that allowed them to be better suited to introducing their students to contact for the first time. Lions have experience with running transition courses for U9s before the start of the season which allows the children to have a better introduction to contact & tackling before starting their seasons.
We were able to provide these schools with ideas of how to better introduce their students to this process, which should increase performance but also decrease the risk of injury by teaching the children the correct techniques.
