Full name: Daniel Evans
How long have you been coaching?
I have been coaching hockey ever since I started playing the sport in 2013 in Scotland. I joined Teddington Hockey Club as a coach in September 2017 and have coached there ever since.
How did you get into it and why coaching?
I only started playing hockey at age 17 and participating in a coaching course was a very good way for me to improve my skills through the development of my hockey knowledge. Through this, I really started enjoying being able to help others improve and I’ve never looked back since.
I'm a very motivating coach and I really want people to enjoy playing and want them progress. I want them to trust me as a coach so they will try their best and get most out of every session.
Why Lions?
My friend Henry Paul, a lions coach himself who mentioned they were looking to promote hockey in schools. I saw this as a good opportunity as other coaches as part of lions were lovely to work with and I had good links with schools through my Teddington youth coaching and many pupils do both school and club hockey.
