Our Tuesday Talent this week would like to show off one of our most talented & experienced coaches. Duncan Traynor has been coaching since he became a school teacher in 2007 and has had numerous important jobs such as a Former Director of Rugby.

How long have you been coaching?
Have been coaching rugby since I became a school teacher in 2007 (12 years).
How did you get into it and why coaching?
As I came towards the end of my rugby playing career I wanted to continue to be part of the game and also teach within rugby schools.
Why Lions?
It’s a good way to see and work with other rugby talents beyond your school rugby environment.
Qualifications and training?
Former Director of Rugby at an independent day school
RFU Level 1 & 2 certificates.
RFU refereeing level 1 certificate.
Played for Exeter Chiefs RFC, Esher RFC, Rosslyn Park FC.
Coaching Goals?
To work with/continue to work with a top independent school rugby senior team.
Interests and Hobbies?
Rugby, fitness, triathlons, running.
Trapped on a desert island, 3 things what are they?
A rugby ball (can’t beat beach rugby)
A boat (to leave the island when I’d had enough)
An ice cold beer.
