Are you worried about the impact Covid has had on the health of your students?
Statistics show there has been a 50% decrease in physical literacy since lockdown. This decrease is likely to result in numerous health implications for your students, such as an increase in obesity.
But don't worry, we are here to help. At Lions Sports Academy, we want to create a proactive approach and be a part of the change that helps students rediscover their fitness.
We want to support your school by providing physical health checks and ongoing support to students. Whether it is taking stock and improving the health of the entire school or providing more performance orientated programmes for your sports scholars, we have a model that treats each school individually to provide a service bespoke to them.
How does the ‘Physical Health Check’ work?
Using state-of-the-art technology, we can better understand your students and their physical needs. We begin by measuring the students’ peak height velocity (PHV) using their height, weight, age and gender. We then complete a bodyweight strength challenge. The students go through a number of bodyweight challenges where each exercise is scored out of a total of 5 points. Once the challenge has been completed the student is provided with an average overall score:
- Scores below 2 points receiving Level 1,
- Above 2 and below 3.4 results in Level 2 and,
- 3.5 and above at ‘Level 3’
Using these scores, we can create a 'physical passport' for each student, which allows for tailored training and development, according to their physical needs. We then work with your school to set goals and improve health, wellness and performance throughout the school.
We aim to help students bounce back from the issues over the last year as quickly and safely as possible.
