Lions Support Guildford RFC Floodlit Tournament

It is crucial that children are given the opportunity to express themselves & have fun through sport. This is why Lions Sports Academy decided to support the Guildford RFC Floodlit Rugby tournament on Friday 5th April. The tournament for U7s - U9s, took place under the lights at Guildford Rugby Club & involved over 20 clubs. Some of the clubs to participate included Guildfordians RFC, Cranleigh RFC, Camberley RFC, Chichester RFC & Old Rutlishians RFC.

It is great to see so many clubs from all over the South of England coming to participate in a tournament such as this one. The variety of teams at the tournament shows the commitment of these clubs to help give their youngsters an opportunity to play rugby & have fun with their friends. The tournament was a brilliant way to usher in the Easter holidays.

As well as supporting the tournament, we also took part in supporting a 'Kit Amnesty' that was in aid of Sports Aid. It is a charity that collects old kit & re-distributes them to the third world or to those who it would benefit to have these kits & give them an opportunity to play sport.

We were extremely pleased that we could help take part in this & it was great to see so many young players in attendance. We are looking forward to going back to Guildford RFC for their next event & we are also be holding our own events at the club during May half term & in the summer.
