Lions Sports Academy, one of the UK’s leading professional coaching academies, has recruited England International player Mo Hunt as lead coach as part of targeted expansion plans.
Natasha “Mo” Hunt, scrum-half for Gloucester-Hartpury and England, will work closely with Lions’ Founder Andy Jones to take Lions coaching programmes and ethos into Gloucestershire and the surrounding rugby heartland following Lions success with the model across the South East.
A qualified teacher and coach, Mo has spoken openly about her own journey into rugby and is now using her profile and expertise to help young people realise their potential in sport. Mo’s appointment to the Lions senior team aims to also develop the women’s game further by ensuring more provision of high-quality coaching specifically for girls is available to Lions partner schools, feeding the club pathway with fresh young players.
Andy Jones said; “As a friend of Lions for a number of years, I’m delighted that Mo is joining us to help Lions deliver quality coaching to even more young people. Our sporting journeys often start at school, with memorable teachers and coaches shaping our relationship with sport which we take through life. Mo’s sporting credentials along with her coaching pedigree speak for themselves so we have no doubt she will inspire many children to fall in love with sport.”
