Four Camps Done &amp

"You get to meet lots of new people from other clubs & make new friends" & "They are always willing to help us improve & learn" . These were the words of Sophie & Carson after the end of this week's Lions Sports Academy camp at Guildfordians RFC.

This is just a small example of the fun that the kids are having on our camps so far this week. It was not just at Guildfordians were these high praises were heard but also at Alton, Guildford, Windsor & also after day one of our girls camp at Havant RFC. It is brilliant to hear so many of our attendees enjoying themselves whilst on our camps & we hope that we have been able to provide them with the coaching & skill levels that they were hoping for.

Four of our half term camps have now come to an end. At first thought this brings a moment of sadness to us all because we never want a camp to end as playing rugby is one of the funnest things you can do. But the four camps to finish so far at Alton, Guildford, Guildfordians & Windsor were definitlely not short of highlights.

Arriving at Alton RFC on Monday morning it would not have been surprising if many of the participants did not fancy it considering how wet & cold it was but this was not to be, as there is no better sight than seeing over 20 kids walk off the pitches at the end of the day covered head to toe in mud & with smiles beaming across their faces.

From Alton to Guildford next & there were the joys of kick tennis & golf as well as seeing the kids practice their elaborate scoring dives onto tackle pads during a kick chase drill.

The third of our four camps to end took place beneath the beautiful sight of Windsor Castle at Windsor Rugby Club. Another two days of enjoyable rugby took place here.

Our final camp to end so far this week came from Guildfordians RFC, where the girls group enjoyed a star-studded coaching line up that involved not one, not two, not three, but five Women's Tyrrells Premier 15 players  (Chloe Butter - Harlequins, Holly Myers - Harlequins, Ellie Green - Harlequins, Victoria Petersen - Harlequins & Angela Radazzano - Richmond) & the boys group (U12-U15) enjoyed specialist coaching from Henry Paul, who plays for Esher in National One, throughout the two days.

There were plenty of smiles & great skills on show by all who attended these camps & all of us at Lions Sports Academy would like to say thank you, firstly, to the clubs for allowing us to put on the camps & secondly, to all the kids who came along & took part.

However..... We still have two more camps remaining this week with the last day of our girls Havant camp taking place today, as well as the first day of our final camp at Bletchley RFC, near Milton Keynes. Keep an eye out on all our social channels for the remaining action!

If you like what you've heard from our camps this week, we have more coming up soon with two camps at Ely RFC & Alton RFC during Easter as well as our two Easter residentials (Boys & Girls) that take place at Boxhill School between 8th - 11th & 15th - 18th April.
