Fish and chips with a famous face for Sam Glossop
It's not everyday you got to the chippy and meet a famous face, that's exactly what happened to Lions coach Sam Glossop. Read on to found out who he bumped into!
Q: How long have you been coaching for, Sam?
I have been coaching for three years and enjoy every moment of it!
Q: How long have you been with Lions?
Just over a year now.
Q: Why did you chose to coach with us?
Lions are very popular and well-known in the local area. There is a big network of brilliant people and coaches here. I love to meet new people and learning from them.
Q: Which sports do you coach and what qualifications do you have?
I am a level-2 qualified rugby coach and level-1 football coach. I am qualified to referee both. I'm also currently learning to lead lacrosse coaching sessions.
Q: And which clubs do you play for?
I currently play for my university team at St Mary's university and my home team, in Hertford, Hertford Rugby Club.
Q: What's your ultimate goal as a coach?
To get the most of out of myself and those that I coach, whether that be in a sporting context or as a person.
Q: Who is your sporting hero and why?
Chris Robshaw. A model professional, on and off the pitch. Someone everyone should look up to, be that from a sporting perspective or day to day life.
Q: Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I once shared a fish and chips with former Saracens and Scottish international Kelly Brown!
Q: What other interests or hobbies do you have?
I am into skiing, video games and food! I also enjoy socialising with my friends.
