Our two week Easter camp programme kicked off yesterday at Ely Tigers Rugby Club & our girls rugby residential at Box Hill School in Dorking. With over 30 attendees at Ely & up to 20 on our four-day residential, this is a fantastic start to two weeks of rugby & sport.
The second & final day of our camp at Ely is coming to an end & it is great to see so many young, talented & hard working kids on show throughout the camp. The residential at Box Hill is halfway through & the kids have been entertained by coaches Emi Sutton (Harlequins Womens), Chloe Butler (Australia & Harlequins Womens) & Angela Radazzano (Richmond Ladies). They have been put through their paces on the rugby pitch so far with lots of games & skills. They were measured for their speed & endurance by using the speed gates to measure their times & at the beginning of day two were in the sports hall, practicing exercises that could help with injury prevention.
However, the highlight of the residential so far must have come from Angela's masterclass in Jujitsu that she gave on Monday afternoon. Angela is a black belt & represented Great Britain. The kids were thrilled with the masterclass & learned lots of different Jujitsu techniques & movements.
Once the sport had come to an end, the kids were able to enjoy hot chocolates & a movie night in the boarding house. It seemed like the perfect end to a great first day. We hope the remaining days of the residential will be just as entertaining & fun.
Don't forget we also have two more camps coming up next week. Our very first mixed Rugby & Athlete Development Camp at Teddington RFC & our U11s & U13s girls rugby camp at Old Reigatains. There are still places remaining so BOOK NOW before it's too late.
