Coach Q&A with Jonah North

 

                                                  Jonah recently made the switch from teaching to coaching. 


Q: How long have you been coaching for? 

I started coaching in September having previously been a teacher for two and a half years.

Q: How long have you been coaching with Lions? 

I joined at the start of September.

Q: Why did you choose to coach with us?

I chose to coach with Lions because a lot of my friends are involved and they have always highly regarded it.

Q: Which sport(s) do you coach and what qualifications do you have?

I coach rugby, although I do not have any qualifications in it, I have great in-depth knowledge of the sport.

Q: Which clubs (if any) do you play for?

I’ve played at county-level back home for Hampshire, Havant RFC and currently St.Mary’s RFC.

Q: What is your ultimate goal as a coach?

To implement game centered approaches which ultimately develop players to make better decisions.

Q: Who is your sporting hero and why?

My current sporting hero is Faf De Klerk (Sale Sharks) because he is one of the “little men” of rugby, yet is regarded as one of the best players in the world.

Q: Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

My claim to fame is that I was Budgy Smuggler's photo of the month.

Q: What other interests and/or hobbies do you have?

My other hobbies include eating mass amounts of food and listening to podcasts.
